Virgin, Utah is a small town located in Washington County. The first settlement in the area was made in 1858 and it is located along the Virgin River for which it is named. The town can be found on State Route 9.
With just 600 residents, Virgin is small but does have a Town Council and some other amenities for its small population.
The town sits about 27 miles Northeast of St George, Utah. To its other direction farther North East, Virgin is located about 14 miles to Zion National Park and is passed by travelers as they head toward the national park along State Route 9
Evidence of the Virgin Town history can still be viewed as visitors make their way through the town with an old book shop and post office as well as the Virgin jail and other homes and structures built by original settlers.
