Green Springs Golf Course Review

Golf is a very popular activity in St. George and Green Springs Golf Course is one of the most popular golf courses available in Southern Utah. This Green Springs Golf Course review offers history, course description, rates, specials, golf lessons, and more.

Located in Washington, Utah, nestled below the stunning backdrop of the Pine Valley Mountain Range, the Green Springs golf course is a favorite place of Southern Utah's locals. Designed by Gene Gates, the course opened in 1989, and consistently placed as one of the highest rated courses throughout the early 90's. Green Springs features 18 holes (par 71) across 6,859 yards of well manicured fairways and greens. With a course rating of 71.9, and a slope rating of 130, this experience offers both fun and a challenge for golfers of all skill levels.

From wetlands, to canyons, to deserts, Green Springs has a unique layout, with spectacular carries over deep red rock canyons. Some fast greens, varied elevations, and narrow fairways, may warrant a bit of precision. Plus, Green Springs signature holes, numbers 5 and 8, are arguably some of the most difficult in the state. However, amidst the beautiful desert landscape, this linkstyle course has variety, and is fun to play.

Green Springs is managed by Nick Neely, a PGA golf professional, with lessons available by appointment. Plus, their full pro shop features a friendly staff, with the latest in technologically advanced equipment.

Rates at Green Springs vary as the seasons change, but are fairly affordable when compared to those of similar courses. 18 holes of golf, including a cart, may range anywhere from $40-$64 per player. They also have discounted “twi-lite” rates available year round.

Overall, Green Springs offers a playful challenge in one of the most beautiful settings in the state. With numerous accommodations, such as a pro shop, driving range, professional lessons, and some memorable holes, it is one course that is sure to please the beginner, as well as the discerning golfer alike.
