La Verkin is a small town located about 20 miles northeast of St. George, Utah. The town sits directly between to other cities, Hurricane to the west and Toquerville, which is settled more Northeast along Interstate 15.
La Verkin has a slightly larger population compared with other smaller towns in the northeastern corner of Washington County with over 4,000 residents.
La Verkin is known for containing the south most Highway Junction to Zion National Park. The road leading to the park begins at the intersection of Utah State Route 9, which is a national Scenic Highway. La Verkin is also home to the Pah Tempe Hot Springs, which is a historic volcanic Sulphur Spring that sits on the edge of the Virgin River. Some of the hot springs are privately owned and can be used for a fee.
Those visiting Zion National Park and surrounding areas can be assured that La Verkin has several amenities including gas stations, several restaurants, a small farmers market and Pharmacy store.
