In a short half-hour drive, St. George visitors can make their way to the small unincorporated town of Brookside, UT, which features some of the areas oldest historical sites.
Brookside sits just outside the town of Veyo and is the original home of the Chadburn Ranch (aka Chad’s Ranch) that was built in the early 1900s. The ranch was well known as a stopping point for travelers in those days to stop between St. George and Enterprise. It was about a half days journey from either location. The ranch was torn down in the 1920s and only rubble remains of the original structure.
Brookside, Utah is home to about 170 residents, but is close to larger cities like Ivins, St. George and Santa Clara. The scenic views found around Brookside are shared with Snow Canyon State Park, Pine Valley and the Gunlock Reservoir.
